Settings for the sony 350 - Blu-ray Forum

Im planning on upgrading from my 300 and just am wondering with my reciever (in my sig) how should I set up the 350, Direct I think?

I have an onkyo 606, I use Direct. Most settings on the 350 relate only to optical out from what I saw. Btw, I love my 350, best standalone I have owned so far (had sammy 1400/1500 <--*ugh* and a Panny BD30)

When you use "DIRECT".......do you get full 5.1 sound??......Would that work the same for "PURE AUDIO"??.....I have the 705.......I love my 350.

would you still use "direct" if you were playing a dvd on the s350? i love the PQ of my blurays on the 350, but i tried my first dvd last night and it looked absolutely terrible. i have to assume there is a setting issue? do i have to change settings between bds and dvds?
