Default losing video from ps3 (help)

Havign an issue with new reciver, onkyo 705 i think, not sure on model number. When the ps3 is hooked up via hdmi cable to the reciver the tv does not always catch the signal. It will have audio come on for a few seconds then skip out again all the while the tv shows no signal and repeat for some time before finally displaying the image and sound with no problem. This only occures when i turn on tv or ps3. When the ps3 is hooked up directly to the tv no problem and same with reciver straight to tv no problem however when i have the ps3 run through the reciver to the tv=problem, any ideas as to why?

mine is a samsung ps42a456 plasma, 1080i but accepts 1080p, didnt have a problem with the exact same setup except LCD 1080i screen. Oddly the ps3 dashboard shows fine, its just when i want to watch a movie that it goes south

Ah well your lucky then i have the problem with dashboard as well games, and sometimes going between them as well. Diffrent tv's so i wonder if we are missing a setting or something along that line.

i think thats the most likely thing, i reckon my receiver doesnt like passing the 24hz signal from BD, though i changed it to 1080i and it still wouldnt do it. fubar me thinks
