Default MSRP Mist: 34.95 - Happening: 39.99

I am no expert on movies, but The Mist was good. The Happening was s&*t. I wont cry about getting a "deal" on this (as lower MSRP usually means a lower price) but geeze - how odd. It makes me wonder how they pick an MSRP - maybe out of their... well.

The Mist is from the Weinstein Co., while The Happening is from Fox, each studio uses different a different pricing system.

I don't understand. This seems to be where most MSRP's are for newer releases.

EDIT: Ok, I see what you are saying. Fox always charges that as an MSRP. That's why Fox releases are more just about everywhere. MSRP is set by the studio.

Oh I see, so it is set across the board regardless of the movie? Every Movie that Fox puts out will be $40 MSRP? Seems like it would be advantageous to price higher demand movies more, than to just price every movie the same...But I guess they can keep raking in the billions while I struggle to hand it over

Either way, like I said, better for me that The Mist is less, and that I wont be paying out the rump for TDK, Transformers and Iron Man

Yeah, thats why Fox releases usually are the only ones up at 27.95 when they first release on Amazon (Predator, Commando, I, Robot, Patton....and the list goes on) Even Independence day has a 40 dollar MSRP, it's just a Fox thing. I will never buy a Fox title in store because it usually ends up getting priced at 34.99 or something ridiculous.

I on the other hand will pay out the rump for Iron Man and TDK. I typically wait for them to show up in my gold box so it's just 4% less rump paying.

Better than paying full price.

Don't like it? Wait for a sale. Prices are going to be like this until Blu is more widely adopted.
