Angry Bells and Whistles

Is anybody else ANNOYED by the unavoidable "slider bar" appearing on many BDs? I'm an artist and sometimes I like to freeze a frame just to enjoy a composition, or play a scene in slo-mo. Cloverfield and The Mummy are two examples of this trend. Don't get me totally wrong here. I love the capability of BD, and seeing where you are in the time-line of a film is useful, but I would like the ability to disable it. A beautiful freeze frame from a great film is a wonderful thing, especially in high def!

I'm quite unnerved by this playback ststem, some Blu-ray have it and you have to put a marker and some don't and playback begins by itself ... but it's not advertised on the box or menu so it's just luck if you guess you have to pause, pres triangle, choose green, see a marker is enabled ...
Most of the time I don't think abou it and have to search where I was.
Grrrr.

Blame Java. The only titles that don't have the capability to automatically restart where they left off have BD-J menus and such. With those, you either have to create a bookmark or search for your scene.

Doubt there will be a workaround for this anytime soon since Java has to be re-loaded each time the disc is started up (that's what the loading graphic is all about).

pause the movie, then use red to make Ucontrol appear, then red and it disappears and you have the complete picture

Shocking how most pissy and whining posts have such a simple resolution.

Sounded like a legitimate wish for someone who wants to appreciate a stilled HD image.

Shocking how some peoples only post in a thread is *****ing like a child about the OP.

This from the guy that started 10 threads about Batman to "prove a point."
