Coming March 2009

- MPEG-4 AVC 1080p
- BD Live Features
- PiP features
- Dolby TrueHD 7.1 Lossless Audio
- Final Fantasy XIII Demo

Sounds like a sweet deal, i hope thats a international release date not just japan.

being that this movie is supposed to have a demo of FF13, and it's not released until 2009, i guess our hopes of FF13 in Dec of 08 are out the window

That's got to be a Japan only release, I'd guess. Ours will probably come later, as the demo will have to be localized, as well as possibly a new dub made, etc. I feel fairly certain in thinking they will make us wait, but hope I'm wrong. Plus, giving the demo to people outside of Japan would be sort of mean, since we'll have to wait at least a year from the time of the demo till game release...

never heard of a 7.1 truehd track. could be false information. pcm/dtsma for sure. This movie if one of my top favs, imported from japan on initial release then re-purchased when states released. looking fwd to when its re-released on blu regardless of audio track.

Well...the good thing is if it's a Japan only release, if push comes to shove we U.S. Blu-ray fanatics can import it!!! God I love being in the same region as Japan.

Are you under the impression that TrueHD cannot handle 7.1 channels of sound?

There's already a couple of chinese movies with TrueHD 7.1...

There were NEVER any chances of FFXIII in 2008 no matter how many sad faces people put up there and 2009 was a "best case scenario" for a while with many saying 2010 in the us so this is at least a positive step.
It needs to be clarified that the demo is for the Japanese version and on the Japanese version of ACC

Be careful... I got the Japanese DVD imported to the UK on it's release (The sweet limited edition box!). Sadly since it had no English soundtrack or subtitles I was stuck unable to watch it until the UK release came out. (*Cough*ThoughIdidseeapisspoorfansubbedversion*cou gh*). I mean they could just stick the English 5.1 audio from the DVD on there as is (albeit some scenes have been changed so there may be missing dialogue etc.) so chances are we're not going to see it outside of Japan for a loooooong time. At least not with the FFXIII demo as well. I'm pretty sure with a week of it's release there will be some kind of dodgy fan subbed rip.

I'd like to see the tech demo in 1080p as a bonus feature!!
