Default need help

can anyone here on this forum provide or point me in the direction of screen shots and maybe a review of a film ported over to blu-ray using 16mm or super16. i am not really hearing good things when it comes to 16mm it has forced me to cancel pre-orders which i have found to be originally shot using 16mm i just don't really want to waste good money if really i am not going to get
any better film quality.

Wink my question is...

I may be retarded for this question, but where do you find out what the original was filmed in? And, my next question is: Can you tell the difference in DVD, b/c if you can, I would suspect that you could tell in BD as well. I know in some movies, I can tell when they switch from one film to another (only on Bd, not DVD) b/c some will be clear, and some gritty or grainy.

Okay...so I have a lot of q's. What's the difference in all of them? I know I've heard some of the filmmakers/directors are choosing old skool films, and some are going all digital. I like both for different things. But on the film side, I don't know the difference between 16, Super16, and all the rest.

Thanks from the not-so-up-to-speed-on-films guy.

i use imdb.com they reference allot of information about film used and aspect ratio.
as for super16 its a lower quality film used to give a much older retro feel to film cant really explain it any more than that

According to wikipedia "Saw" was shot in super 16, Highdefdigest gave it 3.5 out of 5 for picture.
