Default September 2008-Biggest Blu Month Ever!

With the newly announced Blow and Daredevil a few days ago, September is looking more and more like the be-all month for Blu-Ray releases.

Must owns already for me, Transformers (9/2), Blow (9/16), Godfather Trilogy (9/23), Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Iron Man, Daredevil & Knocked Up (9/30), are joined by other possibles Kill Bill 1&2, Sixth Sense, Outbreak, 40-Year Old Virgin, and finally the rumored 1408, and Speed Racer, but Beetlejuice was pushed back

Sidenote: I hate the word "pwns" but used it as an option in the poll to poke a little fun at it.

Copied and Pasted and updated periodically: the complete list from releaselists.com for reference (if its too long and annoying, let me know) The link: http://www.releaselists.com/BLURAYNorthAmerica.html

Hahaha. Its not as important or amazing as the others obviously. But it's a Marvel flick that I found entertaining. Better than alot of other Marvel stinkers for sure. The Daredevil release does not bring the overall September credibility down though

BTW: Nice list of movies you want to see Blu, I love every one of them except 2, I especially liked your nod to NBK: DC and American Beauty

I think November is a better month overall. I mean comon, that's the month of the Dark Knight, Kung Fu Panda, Incredible hulk, Matrix Trilogy, Wall-E, and possibly Hancock, The Happening, The strangers, and Wanted. I know some of those are unconfimed but to me, they are practically going to be in November. Though, September is a great month as well.

If this is not the biggest, and one of the most important months for Blu Ray releases, I dont know what is. My wallet is going to be crying.

To see some more rumored titles (and confirmed), check out this list at releaselists.com:

What else am I missing? Surely theres a few more blockbusters that we'll soon see in September.....
I agree. Don't know how HDDVD will live after September.

It's not a big month for me. I agree with others that November looks like the winner.

I'll probably only get...

Transformers, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Daredevil.

Passing on Beetlejuice because it's a pitiful barebones release.

September by a wide margin:

Godfather
Kill Bill
L.A. Confidential
Outbreak
Cool Hand Luke
Omen, The
1408
Madagascar
Rudy
Blow
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Knocked Up
40 Year Old Virgin
Sixth Sense
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Transformers

Unless November has some massive announcements, September wins in a landslide.

I just browsed through, and (although there are lots of good movies coming out) there are only 4 that I would call 'must-owns'.
Kill Bill
Beetlejuice
The Omen
& Blow

From the Speed Racer Announcement:

Quote:
Earlier this year, Warner indicated that they would release The Matrix films on Blu-ray to coincide with the release of 'Speed Racer' as they are all Wachowski brothers films. Warner yet to make that announcement, but hopefully we will hear something very soon.
Doesn't this leave the possibility open that The Matrix could see a September release?

As for me:
Kill Bill
Kill Bill 2
Rudy
Eraser
Under Siege 2
Transformers
Knocked Up
40 Year Old Virgin
Forgetting Sarah Marshall

The Godfather is a given, but everyone should do themselves a favor and read up a bit on L.A. Confidential. Truly amazing film that would have won best picture any other year if it weren't going up against Titanic.

I'm curious if Warner might opt to release The Matrix on a different date than Speed Racer after Speed Racer flopped.

I'll be picking up around 15 give or take any Warner titles that don't have hd audio.

I already have Night Watch and Day Watch, but I would have picked up those as well.

All I know is I'm glad I just started my job at Best Buy for the discount and have $170 in gift cards saved up to cut back on expenses.
