Hello all, I am running a uk madden league (you may have seen the thread) and after finding out how the online league works similar to your league people are starting to have second thoughts. However we have come up with a solution but requires commitment from the person orgainsing the league.
This is taken from our leagues thread As an alternative we could try to do both (with a bit of organising) The standard league format in the game would run itself giving us records, stats and eventually 8 teams that would qualify for the post season where finally one team would be champions. Here is the tricky part, if we wanted to run a more authentic league where each team has a 16 game record we would have to record the results of games and input them into a spread sheet/table of some kind to keep track. Once this has been done for all teams, we would be able to work out which teams made the playoffs and then we could indivdualy play online games to determine who makes the divsional playoff, championship game and the eventual super bowl. If this is hard to understand (i'm confused by typing it) this is how it would work. Take for instance the titans. There schedule is made up of the following games. Games against divisonal rivals (Colts, Jags and Texans) 6 games Other scheduled games (Bengals,Vikings, Ravens, Chiefs, Packers, Bears, Jets, Lions, Browns and steelers) 10 games Although, i as the titans would play every team in the standard format, results in the above mentioned games would be counted in the authentic format as well. It may seem time consuming but I dont think it will be that complicated. Is this something that could save your league? |

only problem is during the standard league you can only play a maximum of eleven games.

There is a solution to the Madden league it just takes $$ to do it.....
With 32teams it wouldn't be to much from each team... Most "hardcore" madden leagues over the years have used an outside source of http://www.leaguedaddy.com/ In this you set up your games on-line through the forums/aim etc and then update your games stats into the website that is created for this league and it keeps track of stats standings etc etc etc..... Taken from the website: Each subscription allows you to host one league and includes the following: * Real-time updates of standings and rankings. As soon as scores and stats are entered for a game, the standings and stats for the entire league are current. * Any number of seasons. * Any number of conferences and divisions. * Automatic email notifications to coaches when any game scores and stats are entered. * Up to 40 teams.± * Up to 40 player stats per player.± * Up to 20 team stats per team.± So divide this all by 32teams wouldnt be horrible (3.12 per team for the full year) 1-month = 12.95 3-month = 29.95 6-month = 54.95 12-month = 99.95 |

The League through madden is more of a Tournament set-up...There is no divisions or anything....So you pick between 1,3,5,7,11 games to be played against EACH team in the league sooo in essence if you picked 11games, your going to play the PAT's 11times, the Colts 11times, The Bucs 11times and so on, So basically 341games total........... I just went through the leaguedaddy site in my previous post and it looks really good.....It is basically what your saying(about you keeping track of all the stats) except everything is done "offline" and for you . The site sets everything up for you(Divisions, schedules, playoffs, etc). So you just set-up a game with your opponent that week via forums, aim whatever. After you play a game you go into your team enter the stats for that game and then site tracks leaders, standings etc.....They have a NFL module already there so set-up is easy and for 3-4bucks per team not bad at all... |
