Onkyo 606 - Blu-ray Forum

I currently do not have a receiver with HDMI inputs so I have been playing my Blus on PS3 with zero surround sound. I saw the Onkyo 606 on Amazon for $369.00 and was going to pick it up. Is this a good receiver? Truth be told, I'm getting my father to pick it up, and that is about as much money as I will be able to get him to commit. The reviews on Amazon seem very positive with the exception of one or two that returned it because of a buzzing sound, one of them specifically cited the buzzing as when it is being used with a PS3.

Anyone have one of these or can recommend something better for a similar price? I'm not looking to do anything fancy with it, just hook it up to our surround sound and play lossless audio on my blus that have it.

I have the receiver it is well worth the money, wouldn't buy it at amazon tho for 369.00 I would get it from a local store that is good and does bargaining, you will want the extended warranty and such just to be safe. I got my receiver for $399.00 around the time the government sent us those nice checks. and I got a 5 year extended warranty for like 50 bucks with it.

You paid $100 more for the exact same receiver. Hmmmm.

Check the Onkyo 605 in my sig. It's significantly cheaper than the 606.

I got mine from there and was pleased with their service. They're also a certified Onkyo dealer so the refurb warranty for a year will be honored.

Mine looked no different than a completely brand new one. All accessories were included.

Buy it. I got mine for $303 on ebay after the live.com cashback offer and i am very pleased with it. Also came with two year warranty.
