Okay, I just strolling through all the blu ray movies that is coming and all I gotta said is "DAMN!!!!" So, my question to you is that what you going to do? You going buy them when they come out, spread them out or wait till christmas and pray that they will go down in price?

I won't ever spend over $20 for a bluray. That's only for my favorites like 30 days of night or V for Vendetta. Most movies I won't pay over $15.

I'm thinking about selling 90% of my dvd movies and I find when I go to look for a movie I pretty much go straight to my blurays, of which I own about 35, instead of my dvds. I own about 100 dvds. May as well sell 'em and spend the profits on something i'll watch. This isn't really intentional. I just noticed I havn't watched a dvd except for rentals or anime in about 2 months.

As for a more direct answer, i'll buy them when I can afford them. I'm sure most people are like that. The only people who will buy them all as they come out are people with really high paying jobs or really high debt they intend on making higher.

Trying to keep up with buying, but I am behind about 20 titles already!

I used to have more than a 1000 DVDs and am down to about 400 + 100 imports mainly from Germany. Those was back in the day when I just bought them to have the movie, instead of renting it first if I wasn't sure about a title.

I am pickier now... Selling the DVDs has an advantage (next to losing a bunch of money) though, as most of them got traded in for Amazon gift cards, so about 70% of my now Blu-ray movies got "traded" for my DVDs... that's at least how I can explain the ever growing Blu selection to my wife!

Might start to wait for some prices to go down especially for catalog titles or new releases that are like $27.95...

I've pretty much put a hold on my blu-ray buying for the time being..... so with that being said, The Godfather trilogy will probably be bought, but I'm going to need some pretty good deals/sales to get me to buy lots of movies...... I have a lot going on right now, and not only do I not "need" to get movies the week they're released, I don't have time to watch my netflix movies in a timely manner, so I wouldn't have time to watch them right away anyways......

That being said, a good sale comes along, I'm not opposed to picking up 10-15 titles.... but I'm not going to pick up stuff just because it's $3 or $4 off....

i was trying to limit it to buying one title per month.. but that hasnt worked so far this year... must haves for me in short terms are Transformers, Iron Man, The Dark Knight.. If Walle and Indy come out before christmas will probaly pick them up also. I will hold off on titles like the Matrix as i've seen it so many times already and the Godfather. I will defintetly pick them up at some stage.. just will wait for a while.. probably the same with the Bond titles.. although i may just have a very long santa list this year instead

I will rent all of the good movies when they first come out. Then I will buy any really good ones from members of Blu-ray.com a month later for $12-15 bucks

Though there are a ton of announced titles coming up, I went through them with a fine tooth comb and found only about 15 must haves for me between today and the end of the year. Granted, there will be a lot more announcements, but I am hoping I can be selective enough to keep up with the flow of must-have titles.
September is going to hit me the hardest so far, but I have $200 in Best Buy gift cards (That won't get me very far at Best Buy, I know) and $100 in Hastings gift cards I've been just kind of sitting on, so those should help.
I've also been gathering up DVD's/PS3/Wii/XB360 games/movies that I no longer want, so I can sell those back to somewhere for some Blu-ray spending money.

I'll probably buy most of what I want when they are first released.

I know for sure that I'll be buying Nightmare on Elm St., Kill Bill vol.1, and Iron Man on their release dates. Any other titles I'll get whenever. I usually buy the Blu Rays I really want on release date, but sometimes I wind up buying more Like the other day I went to Best Buy to get Batman Begins and wound up buying that, Cars, and Underworld. I'm new to Blu Ray, but it's already getting addictive.

What you gonna do?

What you gonna do?

When they come for you?

Bad Boys, bad boys...

Netflix all but my must buys, then if I like the rentals enough for rewatch value, buy them.

I have noticed the same thing with always looking at my Blu-rays first because they just look and sound that much better than the DVD. I guess it wouldn't be that bad of an idea to just sell all of them at $2 or $3 a pop, given I own over a hundred. That would be a good way to save up for the holiday season's massive selection of Blu-rays.

I wouldn't sell my DVD collection (1,200 or so) for $4 or $5,000 even if I could get it, cash-in-hand right now..... ..... It took me a long time to collect them, and unless you only own highly main-stream box-office movies, chances are a lot of them won't be on blu for quite some time.... don't you think you'll want to watch them between now and then????
