Thread Deleted

Recently, I had gotten a thread deleted in the PS3 forum. I posted Gamespot's Screenshots of the PS3, and was asking for a discussion on this and why it seems to lag in comparison with other systems (none were explicitly mentioned).

It is not polite to delete posts, especially ones that required precious time to produce for absolutely no reason at all.

from what you describe that obviously doesn't make sense, but i dont know the full story.

that aside, threads are deleted for various reasons. PM a mod since they are the ones in charge of that.

Created it nearly 10 minutes ago. I do not know who are the mods and what-not, so this was the only way I could bring this up.

It likely got deleted because I was making some "implications of the Xbox 360, by calling it "XXX". Since the link were screenshot comparisons, obviously it's the only way feasible to discuss the PS3 in this format.

Sometimes, the only way you can talk about something, is to have a comparison. Restricting all talk about the PS3 to merely just PS3 architecture provides small basis for discussion anyhow. My thread wasn't a "war promoting" thread, but it was a discussion about why the Cell Processor has not be able to provide good results for the PS3 thus far on a whole in comparisons to other systems. Luckily, I was able to hit the back button enough to retrieve the text that I had written:

Gamespot recently has done a nice comparison screen comparisons, with some of the newest games between the PS3 and the XXX system.

Fallout 3: XXX clearly takes the cake by a wide margin. In-fact, I don't believe that I'm going to buy this title for the PS3 anymore, and might opt for the PC version instead.

Soulcalibur IV: PS3 takes the cake slightly here. Shadows are more pronounced, and textures seem to be at a higher resolution.

Dead Space: I like the PS3's darker look, but the PS3 suffers from some shadow problems as seen in the picture. Overall, really a tie.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed : XXX takes the cake here clearly. Everything is just higher resolution, and clearly looks better.

Call of Duty: World at War : This is really hard to judge. I'd just have to say tie. The PS3 has a darker cinematic look which I like, but the XXX seems to have slightly more details, which really don't matter to me on this game. This one is a Tie.

Madden NFL 09: Tie on this one, enough said.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC : XXX takes the case slightly here. Look at the backgrounds.

Final for me:

PS3: 1
XXX: 3
Tie: 3

The cell processor has been out for at-least 2 years now, and we should be seeing some better results than this for our systems. Are game producers still not able to utilize the full cell processor after all this time?

well he spends alot of time to keep that area well informed and neat it shows as its easy to navigate, so I guarantee whatever you posted either didnt belong or maybe contained irrelevant information. I would pm him and see what his reply is, all I am doing is speculating as I didnt see the original post.

Well, I guess I can do that myself then. Luckily I had it saved, otherwise I'd been a little more upset

I must also say though on a side note, that it MUST be understood that sometimes, having an inconstant variable requires comparison between other variables, because this is the ONLY way of making absolute judgements about something. You can probably think of millions of real world examples. This is sort of why before buying an Acoustic, it is advisable to go out and play as many as you can, and compare other models. What you "think" may sound or "look" good, you might find something that simply sounds better.

My post wasn't the intention of "Hey guys, lets compare these machines and start a flame fest". That has already been done. The intention was "Ok, why is the PS3 lagging behind, please tell me because I want to know"

I'm afraid now that it's in the Off-Topic, that it's going to become a war thread, which I didn't want in the first place.

Keep up the good work guys. I am not "whining", just giving some "feedback".

I don't Understand why some Threads get deleted. I posted one in the movies Section about "Young People Fu**ing", and you think that somebody that works for blu-ray.com would know that it's a movie... And it's out on Blu-ray.

There is a filter on the site that automatically unapproves posts and threads that contain certain words and we don't even see them. That is where it is.

Puh-leeze... they have to deal with a lot of crap here...I just didn't think anything wrong happened in that thread...and, I typically know when I've gone over the line...
