PS3 avatars

Hi, quick question.

I am finally getting my PS3 on 23rd March, and now that you can choose any image to be your avatar, I was wondering if anyone knew the ideal image size for them. I'll put one together, ready to transfer over to my PS3 for when I go online.

FYI, the avatar that you can customize is the avatar for when you sign onto your PS3. The icon that is next to your PS3 log-in name. NOT the avatar that people see when you are online, in their friend's list. As for the size, I'm not sure. Just make it any size, and the PS3 should reduce it to what it should be.

I downloaded an image from flickr via the PS3's web browser and selected it for my login account. It was a pretty big jpeg - fabulous hi-res on the big screen - but it scales down very nicely. Has to be jpeg I think - not sure about .gif

I just used a pic I had already transferred to the PS3 from a camera mem card. It scaled and adjusted the size automatically.
