Default PC Blu Ray Players
I'm thinking of buying a laptop with a Blu Ray player in. It has HDMI output on it so seems like a good way of avoiding buying a dedicated Blu Ray player as well.

However, I'm concerned about Blu Ray standards. I have read that the software that comes with the laptop only plays version 1.0 discs. Does anyone know if the Blu Ray drive would play 1.1 discs if I bought software for it, or is this a hardware/firmware issue? I'm also concerned about the new version 2.0 standard I've read about. Would the player be capable of playing those discs with the right software, or is this a hardware/firmware issue?

Any help on this type of thing, or pointers to information on it greatly appreciated! I'm also wondering about things like 24fps playback.
