Default Home Theatre Budget Issues

So....I have a Sony KDS50A2000 has a great picture, great sound etc. My blu-ray player is a 80gig PS3. I also have a Sony HTIB that I want to get rid of and upgrade.
Looking for suggesstions for either 5.1 or 7.1 set up for a budget of about $2000? Thanks in advance for your help!

$2000? Ok lets see since you have a PS3 you have no need to bitstream (nor can you) and you have no need of a receiver that decodes - so we will forgo thoses things and move you up in quality. Heres your receiver - A Marantz 6001 http://www.accessories4less.com/make...urround/1.html

As far as speakers go - you can start auditioning You have roughly 1500+ left to spend on speakers. If you need space, you can go for a MFM 15 sub from av123 and their x-series monitors and center channel a 5.1 set will cost you $1576.00. You could also try offerings from Aperion, Axiom, Paradigm, PBS, and HSU. I hope this gets you started

Edit:Opps, I forgot I went with the 6001, you could drop the receiver down to the 5002 and then you will be in budget with what I've suggested (with the 6001 you will be over budget by about 200.00 but hey - you should plan to go over budget a little bit !!!!

The only thing to remember with not having an HDMI 1.3 receiver is that you can not do deep colour. Not many TV's have deep colour but I would have to assume that most of the expensive '09 TV's will have deep colour.
