PS3 Save files on USB...how do I use it?

I have some game save data on a usb thumbdrive.

However when I plug it into the PS3 it registers the USB but says "no titles"

How do I get it to read the files?

It's set up like this:

PS3/SAVEDATA

edit: I hit triangle and told it to "copy" and it said "no files to copy"

Edit #2: I got it now. WHOOOOOOOOOOO! lol

you spoke too soon.

I copied the files, it said "copy completed" or whatever, but when I loaded the game, it didn't change anything.

Am I supposed to do something else?

Well I followed the instructions I found online relating to the GameFaq's site and I just erased my progress. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!

If you're using a save for a different region to the game you're playing (Asia, North America, Europe etc) it probably won't work.

I haven't experimented with saves tied to PSN accounts but that's a possibility.

Nah it was specifically the USA version.

When I got the game and put it in it made me copy it to the HD of the PS3 before I could play it.

So I don't know if that matters.

Not sure if it helps, but whenever I'm transferring stuff via USB, I always just hit triangle and select "Display All". Once you find the file you want, just hit triangle and select copy. Granted, I've only done this with music/movies, so I'm not sure if it works the same for game saves.

The only thing that I know for sure requires setting up the PS3 folder properly on the USB drive is when you are trying to do system updates.
