Cover Art? - Blu-ray Forum

I have noticed and was wondering...

some blue-ray titles have a shiny metalic cover to them, and some do not...

example, terminator 2 has a regular looking cover and one with the shiny metalic...

Is there any difference??

(I appologize if this topic has been discussed a zillion times over)

Lions Gate's first few titles (Lord of War, Punisher, Terminator 2, etc) had a regular cover withouth silver lining, but titles released after that come with it. Probably Terminator 2 is on a second press run and Lions Gate decided to add the silver to it to let customers know it's part of their line. All Disney titles, and last year's Paramount titles (the ones released this year haven't so far) have their own version of silver too. Sony titles don't have the shiny silver ,but have a light gray mound in the bottom, while Fox titles have a black stripe.

Actually, I believe the one with the shiny lining is the original release. The other one that is all black is the re-release that is on store shelves sold everywhere. See ebay for more proof.

Deci was right. The silver ones are newer. I bought the orginal T2 BD the day it came out. It's all black.

The thing is, you can't find the shiny version anywhere, just the black one...well atleast up here in Canada.

It's like that here in the states too for the most part. I've only seen one silver one with my own eyes.

The silver lined Terminator 2s I first saw them on (US) BestBuys around January. The original cover one was bought for me months ago around launch by my BondGirl. (thanks
