Default Polk RTi A9s How to get the most outta them

I have some that will be connected to a Yamaha RX-V863. Will only be used as the "Zone B" speakers for CD music listening. I'm thinking about upgrading to a higher end CD player...Rotel maybe. How much better would my music performance be by adding an amp (of which I'm clueless) to this setup. The Yamaha is a 105 Watt receiver. The Polks call for anywhere from 50 to 500 watts. Appreciate any info. Thanx.

An amp would be an upgrade considering that receiver only puts out 66w for 2 channels driven.

I think you are looking at the wrong receiver, that one is 105 WPC.

To the OP, I do not have any experience with Rotel CD players although I hear they are quite nice. I believe that some of them will upsample the audio signal to a higher bitrate, similar to upscaling the video on a DVD. Not sure if you would benefit from the Rotel or not....
