Question 7.1 LPCM vs 7.1 DTS-HDMA

I thought that LPCM was the best of the new lossless codecs I understand that it takes more space than the other codecs.
But with the possibility of 75 GB or even 100 GB BRD's whats the problem with using LPCM my favorite movie for audio is War and its a 7.1 LPCM soundtrack so why is it that the company's wont take LPCM and use it to there advantage I always thought it was the best ? ?. And I wont take space for an excuse

So vote for your favorite codec

From my understanding, they want to fit as many language tracks as they can on a single disc. Thats they only reason to use a compressed format over PCM.

Personally, I dont care what format its in, aslong as its 7.1, you should add that as an option.

Where's the option for "This has already been discussed countless times?

They should all sound the same. It's an issue of source material, and what it is encoded as.

LPCM is uncompressed - so if there is a best this should be it.
There's some unique advantages to DTS-HDMA...but that doesn't mean its the best.

Where's the option for "All of the above?" It's not like we're talking about the stark differences between compressed codecs like Dolby Digital and DTS.

Aargh!
