Which HD tv's are you must excited about for fall 2008 - 2009?

Myself i would have to say i am most excited about the sony xbr 8, not much on sony's website about cost or the exact release date but the specs on this bad mama jamma look awesome. i think this will be the tv i upgrade too

Yeah-Sammy's do not have the same quality as Sony. Maybe similar performance for less money, but hardly same quality.

I don't think anything great this fall is going to come out. However, 2009 is looking pretty good with Pioneers Extreme Contrast Concept. It'll most likely out perform the XBR8 just like the current Kuros out perform the current XBRs.

Im looking to buy a 9 series Samsung.

I will give the Kuro and XBR8 props for being a better TV, but my budget probably won't be able to afford it. 9 series will still be an awesome tv.

You could start up any thread like this at any time and it will always turn into a plasma vs lcd debate. Too funny, but I like both TV concepts.

I just can't wait for those concepts to be cheap to the masses so I can afford one.

???

you're comparing kuros vs XBRs??

Sure, sammy may have the similar or same spec as the sony. But PQ and quality of the product, and hell, the design wise, sony > sammy. Besides, korean brand, enough said there. I'd never get a korean brand and i hated my sammy 24" LCD monitor, and i ended up getting a dell one.

Just like all current plasmas from Pioneer and Panasonic outperform all LCD's from anyone.

Nothing in the LCD world excites me.

Not a consumer product for 09, but top in the "excitement" category has to be Sony's manufacturing of FED.

Sony's panels have been made in Korea since 2004 at a factory co-owned with Samsung.

They've also just reached an agreement for additional outsourcing in Taiwan through Hon Hai Precision, according to Nikkei Business Daily.

Default They are better LCD's

Yup, the XBR8 looks good... for an LCD that is. My next TV will be plasma... if I decide I need something newer than what I got. The concept pioneer is waaayyyyy cool tho. Better than the Sony. LCD always looks over-exposed
