Default Problems buying used BDs?

Has anyone had any problems buying used BDs? Should I put out a few more bucks for new ones?

I've bought from folks on here, Amazon Sellers, eBay and Half.com and haven't had a problem. Make sure you purchase from vendors with a high feedback rating (98% or greater) over a substantial amount of transactions and you should be good.

Ditto.... but I would keep my purchases of used discs to $15 dollars or less. We are bound to see some big sales when the holidays near.

+1 to this. If you search around and are patient you should be able to pick up a deal on nearly every movie you want. My price point when buying used has shrunk to around $12.

I have puchased some used Blus from CD Warehouse, but my local one is extremely good about not buying them back from people if there are any scratches at all. I've purchased the entire Spiderman Trilogy for $30 and Xmen 3 and Live Free or Die Hard with absolutely no problems. I always inspected the disc myself also, and there aren't any scratches on any of them. So you may have some local options, but make sure they're good about not buying anything that's scratched.

Used BDs seem more durable than used dvds, mostly because of the protective coating.

Of my almost 300 BD's, id say about 150 are used. Ive never once had a problem with them, and you can sometimes get awesome deals. Last week I got Mummy, Mummy Returns, Golden Compass, Dark City, and both Harold and Kumar movies for about $75 used after tax.
