Warner's plan: bundle titles with BD players and PS3s. The second initiative is to get PS3 households to buy Blu-ray Remote addons. Apparently, owners of PS3 remote controls buy 5 discs annually instead of 2. Given how annoying controlling a movie with a game pad is, I'm not surprised! Next plan: better "retail experience". Monica wants displays with SD DVD and BD playing beside each other to show consumers the difference.
WB + Bundle + PS3 = THE DARK KNIGHT/Playstation 3 bundle
IT'S THE DARK KNIGHT

At least I hope so.

Warner's marketing department still seems stuck applying tactics they used in the dvd era for Blu-rays. WB has to learn that the typical Blu-ray customer is concerned right now with better quality audio and video and not useless gimmicks like book style packaging. Customers aren't spending thousands on their tvs and sound systems to get lossy audio and it looks even worse when every other major studio is delivering them. I do think Warner should be commended for delivering a wide array of catalog titles but they need to step up their BD efforts.

Agree with your post. The digibook gimic is ridiculous, and a total failure in my book. bring on the superior audio and video. Warner should take a closer look at "The Proposition".

They won't bundle the dark knight with the ps3. warner wants the standalone market to increase so i would expect the dark knight to be bundled with the S350, S550, sammy 1500, 2500, and the panny bd50. could you imagine how great of a deal it would be to have the sony S350 and DK bundled together for under $279 for the holiday season. it would be a great seller. if that player will be $299 come september, i'm sure by black friday it would be had for under $279 or even $249.

I don't disagee that they should include lossless ubiquitously, but that is a side topic with respect to mainstreaming/increasing Blu Ray adoption.

This announced list follows the Disney Platinum DVD schedule. There are no surprises.

Since Lion King was last released a year after Beauty and the Beast, it probably will be again.
