So I’ve been on the forums awhile and took a vacation from them when I moved into an apartment.... well I just closed on my very first house at the end of October and it’s got a decent sized loft. I believe it’s 14x18 which I intend to close up and it’ll become a home theater. I told myself I wouldn’t buy anything for a year or so.... I made a mistake. I bought the Xbox One X thinking I could flip it and make a profit. It turns out that there are plenty to be had because the demand isn’t great. So that started it. Now that I had my first piece of 4K equipment I obviously needed everything else. Last week a big blue box store had an expired tag on a new Denon AVR-X6400H for $1499 so I couldn’t let the deal slip thru my hands. Then I upgrade my $10 power strip to the Panamax 5400 brand new online for $439. The big blue box store then put up their Black Friday ads online and I had intentions of getting the 65” XBR 900E for $1499 but I knew I wouldn’t be happy and it would only be temporary until the Sony 4K projectors came down in price, so I spent a bit more and got the 75” for $2799 thinking I’ll be satisfied for a couple years. Fingers crossed. I set everything up last night and I couldn’t be happier. Haven’t heard my subwoofer in over 3 years.
I will update this thread with photos when I’m not currently sitting at the bar having a beer on this great Friday afternoon. Next up is Klipsch speakers at 50% off on Black Friday. EDIT*** 12/20/17 I now have the Klipsch R-28F’s, RP-450C, and SVS PB16-Ultra. Next up is the construction portion of the theater room and ceiling speakers. EDIT*** 8/23/18 So the construction has taken longer than expected due to lack of time and laziness, but I put up the metal framed walls about a month ago and last night I finished up hanging the exterior drywall. Now I have to remove the remainder of the drywall from the kneewall and run wire and then insulate the walls. Also, I bought the AC Infinity Aircom T10 which is worth every penny. I had internal receiver temps around 117 deg and with this cooling component it keeps my Denon's receiver around 80-85deg at all times. Additionally, yesterday I received my ATMOS speakers. I decided to go with RSL C34E's after a lot of research. They are direct sales only and can't be bought from stores which makes them cheaper but supposedly they're fantastic and rated just as good as speakers 3 times the price. Can't wait to try them. Thanks. That’s actually part of an entertainment center I bought from Target about 10 years ago. There’s another identical one sitting in my garage and a center piece for a tv that I’d love to give away. I love them but I don’t have a use for them. Once I build a built-in wall rack I won’t have a need for the one I’m using.

New subwoofer is up and running. I bought one from their outlet to save $600 and it looks brand new. Super small blemish on the top smaller than a fruit fly that took me a couple minutes to even find! So in love so far. I just ran the mic calibration about 10 min ago and watching my first movie now. Playing with the iPhone app and it’s way over my head. So many adjustments that I have no clue about. Build quality is worlds better than my MFW-15 and that was very good too.

Finally got the Klipsch RP-450C in yesterday and boy does it sound amazing! I actually didn’t want the piano black finish but I got it brand new for $499 which is cheaper than the ebony color and definitely didn’t want cherry or walnut lol.
Next upgrades will probably be ceiling speakers and maybe book shelf speakers for all the surrounds. |
