Seriously, this tv is just breathtakingly good. This is coming from a guy with 2 kuros, and I can unequivocally say that this tv can hang with the best. I was looking to upgrade my 5010 to a 6020, and by gosh I took a gander at the 58PZ800U panny, and I just can't see any problems there, and at its pricepoint (cheaper than a 5020!!) I can't see why this won't fly off the shelf. I'm actually second guessing if the 6020 is worth a thousands more than the panny, because quite frankly, I saw almost no difference in picture quality and black levels. They were next to each other in a darkened room, both had blu-ray sources.

AGREED!!!
I just purchased the Panasonic 58P750U and absolutely love it! I went bacck and forth between this and a Kuro but like you, just couldn't see much of a difference. I looked and looked for a reason to spend the extra cash and just could find one. I tried to convince myself to go with the Kuro, spend the money, I told myself, you want the best right? I am very happy that I trusted my better jugement and stuck with the Panasonic, it definately holds it's own with the best plasmas on the market and at a much better price!! |

$2,899 for a 58" 1080p THX plasma. Schwing! Incidentally, I compared the -800 series in 60Hz and 24Hz mode recently at Panasonic and found the mildest flicker in scenes like a brightly lit sky, but I didn't find it to be any different than the flicker I notice at the cinema, which is what it's supposed to mimic in the first place. I still think they should have three options. 48Hz - filmic 60Hz 72Hz - smooth |
