lol you started a new thread for this question when you asked it in your old one...why don't you go listen the speakers yourself and decide which ones YOU like...we aren't the ones going to be listeing to them...you have to find which ones fit your budget and ears the best...

I would listen to the RF83's... they sound very bright and clear to me... at $1200 a speaker... or move down from there... $500/speaker is the RF62. They all have horn tweets which are more efficient

Just my opinion, but when I were looking at speakers a while back, I found the Klipsch speakers to be very alive and up front, while the Polks were mellowed and laid back. Nothing wrong with either really, but it just depends on what you like. BTW, I own Klipsch RB75s (x6) and the RC64 center.

You seem so hell-bent on telling everyone that your 1080p T.V. is the best thing since sliced bread, so How about this......

Klipsch and Polk both suck..... yeah.... hate to break it to you...... You might you lose that sexy girlfriend if you don't invest in some GOOD speakers

Meh. For the price range he is probably looking in, I think both are very good. I prefer Polks, just my personal preference though.

I know.... I meant no disrespect for those who have either, I just finished reading his contribution to another thread (1080P ? ) in the Home-Theater section..... sorry, but I was baited into my rude comments!!!!!!

Like I said, People who say Standard DVD is "good enough" are still O.K. in my book.... some people find DVD fine, and spend a great deal of money and time, and other resources into Coin Collecting, Wine, Art, Books, and other means of finding SOMETHING that makes them happy.... I don't judge what other people find to prioritize higher than other things..... I have a very modest 720P T.V. and it's just fine for me for the time being, as audio is more of a priority to me, but this guy (notice he's "suspended" ) apparently thinks 720P TVs regardless of size/viewing distance are "crap" well.... he has his opinion, and I have mine!

instead of starting a new thread...i also would like some opinions on this if no one would mind

i am interested in either polk or klipsch because i heard they were good...any thoughts people? or can someone suggest other speakers?

i don't want to spend more than $1000 on a 5.1 setup

(also on a side note, if i were to buy a 5.1, how do you upgrade it to a 7.1? don't all your speakers have to match?)

thanks, hope i can benefit off of this inconsiderate man's thread

I like the Klipsch and you would just have to buy 2 more surround speakers which klipsch you could just buy the same ones you already have with 5.1 speakers

the rears do...not to sound rude but the fronts are in front or you and the rears are to your left and right...if you have 7.1 then you would have to back speakers that are pointed to the fronts of the room...

I own some Polk speakers and i lov them, but Klipsch are really good but not the crappy that they've got at best buy, seriously for really good klipsch speakers you'll have to pay some serious money, Polk speakers are really good in high frequency, and they're affordable

Really to know what sounds good though is that you have to hear them. I was actually looking at both klipsch (rf line) and polk (rti line), but I got def techs instead. Couldn't hear the polk cause no one here had them available and to me the def techs sounded better then the klipsch. I still think though you can't go wrong with either one

the synergy series isnt necessarily crappy. they are though the entry level of speakers made by klipsch. albeit not exactly there top end speakers, they do the job.

there is though a significant difference with their reference series.

I was asking myself the same question not too long ago. I went with the Polks and I am very happy with them.
