Default PC drive general question

If an answer was posted please redirect.

Not a specific drive, does a pc drive (PC Blu-ray drive) upconvert DVD movies. I dont care how much it upconverts..

And does a PC drive allow 7.1 Audio? Any connection to PC

Summarize: PC drive 7.1 audio and upconvert? Thnx.

OK, you will be fine with all of that, if you want 7.1 surround I would suggest the Creative X-Fi PCI sound card with 7.1 support.

For DVD upscaling, there are good instructions on how to do this on AVSF, or you could use a program like VLC player which basically does everything for you.

Off topic, you spent a lot of money, but I don't see an Intel processor, how come? I have a C2D E6600 running at 3.2GHz on the stock cooling. It is beyond all AMD processors (for now at least) until Barcelona comes out. The Mobo was not that much more expensive and I was able to get faster RAM as Intel doesn't have the restrictive on-die memory controller.

It's mot so hard and there is not such abig deal for "unbelieve" un "surprise" thing !
You just have to reveal how much insane money you spend and cooling system for all that 6.09Ghz and then we can start to discuss whether we believe that or whether it was worth it !

Can we keep this on Blu-ray and off CPU as the speed above a GHz is more than enough for Blu-ray, although the speeds being quoted here would almost get HDi (or iHD whatever it's called this week) moving. I can see this thread ending in tears if it continues to deviate.
