Imagine someone telling you in 1993 that this random-ass B-movie would get seven sequels...and that Tom Berenger and/or Billy Zane would show up in all of them.

I would love for Sony to go the extra mile and give us the complete collection.

They keep release complete dvd collections with each movies release, and a lot of them are on blu-ray already. It seems like this should happen.

These are the type of announcements that make me giddy. Sniper isn't a game-changer or anything, but there's something compulsively watchable about it and those Australian jungles (subbing in for Panama) will look glorious in HD.

Happy to finally retire my DVD.

I'm always down for a cheap, basic collection of a DTV franchise. Universal does it right:

All the movies, on their own discs, with digital codes, for a low price.

Saw it in the theater as a kid. Don't recall much about it, but I'm curious in seeing it again.

I remember seeing this on HBO back in the day and really liking it. Working from memory, I think Tom Berenger is sort of channeling the mentality of his character from Platoon in this one but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I too am surprised that it hasn't gotten any attention or a Blu-ray release until now.

Tom Berenger is the same character in this, Platoon, and The Substitute. He had to make the impossible choice of continuing to pump out DTV sequels to Sniper and The Substitute
