Talking PS3 to come out on top

The PS3 may not have been the first out of the gate and certainly may not have got as many bets to it winning as of just yet, but think to yourself, has sony really lost it's touch or is it that consumers aren't fully aware of the potential. The Xbox 360 was the first out the gate in this race with Nintendo's Wii out second. The PS3 seems to be struggling at the moment but rest assured, sony is not one to make a console that will simply go to the junk yard. When sony told people they wanted a 10 year life cycle for the PS3, one only has to look at it's specification to know that it was tailored to be with use for 10 years. Sony for this reason used extremly next genreation technology such as the CELL broadband engine and the Blu-Ray storage medium to ensure ther console would be here for 10 years. IMO i beleive that MS jumped the gun a bit with the Xbox 360 to get out 1st and to get to 10 million units the fastest, Yes, the have reached that target but is the Xbox 360 really meant to stay with us for the next 10 years, I DON'T THINK SO. The reasons for this are pretty clear, they used DVD to store their games on, which IMO is a big mistake, even if MS didn't use a HD-DVD drive internally for their console initially, they should have added in support for the external drive to play games. We've already seen an example of an Xbox 360 game running out of disk space and have to use three DVDs in the form of Blue Dragon. We've also seen the xbox 360 have no support for true 1080p playback. Yes, they introduced a firmware update allowing games to be upscaled to 1080p but as the educated among you already know, 'upscaled' is not the same as a pure 1080p signal and therefore will never be as good. Also when i seen second gen games on a console using about 90% of the system, i know it's hit trouble early which is the case of the Xbox 360. First gen PS3 games according to most developers are using less than 30% of the system, that is what tells me that the PS3 has got long term potential. It aso outputs true 1080p via the RSX graphics chip provided by NVIDIA unlike the ATI Xenos graphics chip inside of the Xbox 360 which can only output at a native and maximum of 1080i. As quite a lot of you are aware, 1080p is roughly double the quality of 1080i. The next thing i would like to get started on is the Wii, which has had great success and no doubt in my mind is a geat invention by Nintendo to set them apart from Sony and MS and still keep afloat in the games industry, it really is a stroke of genius on Nintendo's part but i feel that like it's different approach, something has to give and the Wi really is not a console i would game on seriously, it isn't the type of leap i would expect from a next gen console and therefore would get a PS3 for that reason but i would also get a Nintendo Wii as my little brother and sisters would thoroughly enjoy a console like the Nintedo Wii and it's price allows me to afford it. The real combination of the consoles is not actually the Wii360 combo but actually the WiiPS3 (feel free to add ur own puns) as the PS3 is the real next gen console to get for serious gaming and the Nintendo Wii to keep for your little bros, sis's and children playing and those parties. I would not consider getting a 360 as it does have some good points, a great online service, an extensive game library and a nice price tag but i feel all that compales in comparison to the real value of a PS3 that many consumers do realise they are getting. They see it as just a games console and not what it really is which is a multi media hub, a PC, a Blu-ray player and a games console rolled all into one shiny black box called the Playstation 3. The PS3 is here for the long haul and it WILL come out on top

This would have been more like it ^^^ still, this seemed like a recap of stuff that is pretty common knowledge round these parts.

I'll be honest, if I had alot of money to blow on video games, I would of bought all three consoles. But I don't. So, in order to make my money stretch for the next gaming lifecycle, I could only get one and I think the PS3 will stretch it far.

Though I have all 3, given that the Wii isn't in the war...I'm hoping the PS3 will win over the 360 too!

Cool XboXPsIII

fellow gamers, Blue ray lovers

alot of good points on the PS3 , and i agree with them. i have both
systems. ( X360 & PS3 ) and i will tell you this. alot of whats going on
right now , are gamers like myself, ( and perhaps you ) getting the 360 only because the PS3 wasnt coming out for another year. dont get me wrong now, i just finished playing Rainbow 6 vegas, i love the game, and i like the 360.. but i knew from jump street i was getting a PS3 because IMO it will be far beyond the 360's capabilities in the next year ( 2008 ) i already see in the next 6 months, the games that are coming out for the PS3 and will be right next to the 360 in game quaility, if not beyond.

PS3 rocks dog , but right now im playing the 360 more.. but i think that
will change real soon

The delay never put me off gettin a PS3 and i didn't buy a xbox 360 because i knew immediately how limited it's power would get. The PS3 really does have the perfect tools to showcase all it's capabilities.

I was dissapointed about the delay but now i kind of welcome it as it allows me to have a bigger choice of games and they will have fixed most of the bugs by the time it launches here in march.

I feel that what really limits the power of the 360 is it's storage capacity, the PS3 has a huge amount of disc space to use to showcase it's power and bleded in with the CELL,RSX and XRD it really is something to behold when playing
