I am setting up a PS3 on an Protron television. The TV doesn't have HDMI but does have component inputs. I bought a component cable but when I try to swith the setting in the PS3 the picture can not go above a 480i output attached to the component innputs of the TV. After reading the manual which is very vauge the TV should support resolutions offered by the outputs of the PS3. Is it possible that the component inputs of the TV don't support above a 480I. I was under the impression that you can do 1080p over component. The TV is a couple years old from what I've been told. This is not my own setup but am doing for a freinds father.
