Talking House of Fury

I was thinking about picking up House of Fury on Blu-Ray

I have never seen the movie. Anyone that has watched it or purchased it on blu-ray whats your take on it. I read some reviews and they looked decent.

The story & the picture quality.

I have alot of martial arts/ kung-fu dvds. Looking to get some on Blu

Also thinking about enter the dragon (which i have on dvd) i seen for 14.99 somewhere
Thanks

I rented it on standard to see if I liked the story, and I did, so I plan on buying the Blu.

So quality wise, I cant say. Story wise, it was basic and simple, but I liked it. A basic story, some great action/fight scenes, and an extremely likable cast. I really enjoyed the cast/characters.

I found the movie pretty funny too. The BDs PQ looked very good considering it's from a studio like Tai Seng - better resolved on average than a typical Warner BD anyway, but maybe a little less consistent than what some of the better studios are doing. And the audio was pretty aggressive, providing for a fun experience if you like asian wire-fu with over the top laughs that worked more often than not and a teenage spy kids vibe. The stuntmen were a little too obvious in HD though, especially when it's a guy doing a girls stunts.

If you like House of Fury, Tiger Blade might also be worth a rent. It's not quite as light, but it too falls under guilty pleasure for wire-fu fans. And though the studio or label designer doesn't appear to have a concept of what uncompressed means (like at least one other release of theirs, lossy DD 5.1 is mislabeled as uncompressed) the PQ was almost gorgeous enough, particularly in terms of detail, to entice multiple viewings even if you aren't crazy about the film.

I have it on blu. The PQ is good not reference but the audio is dts-ma 7.1 which is great. The movie overall is very enjoyable if you like a little comedy thrown into your martial arts. I believe Jackie Chan had some part in the production process so it has his type of flair.

Tigerblade however, was horrible. I was expecting some type of ong bak movie and hoped that I would be surprised as I am with most asian cinema. This however was horrible. The storyline I found retarded.

Bottom line House of Fury=enjoyable
Tigerblade=Grueling.
