Default SONY FIRMWARE Updates For TV's

I will be posting a few zip and iso files on my web site so you can download the latest firmware for a few of the more popular Sony tvs.

NOTE the firmwares I am hosting are not all included in my signature. Some of the TVs in my signature do not have updates.

Quote "SONY KDS-50A2020 50" SXRD 1080p/24p LCD HD-TV
SONY KDS-R60XBR1B 60" SXRD 1080p LCD HD-TV"

Those sets are either sxrd or LCD but not both... it's 2 different technologies.

(I think they are both sxrd sets... but I'm not going to go google it just now.)

Default Um

SONY KDS-R60XBR1B 60" SXRD 1080p is really a 1080i display
SONY KDS-50A2020 50" SXRD 1080p/24p is not a 1080p/24p display only 1080p

They are both SXRD displays

The KDS-R60XBR1B takes and displays 1080p the main board was replaced with a new one and now displays 1080p, the original board before the lawsuit was only 1080i direct that upconverted to 1080p which was bs, it is my understanding after having gone thru 6 main board replacments thru PC Richards that there was and adaption made that allowed certain late model XBR1s accept XBR2 main boards which are 1080p. As for my A2020 tv, I am using a Sony BDP-S300 with the latest firmware and it runs with 1080p/24p on and displays with such. Yes they are both SXRD tv's but the projection content is LCD-Projection according to sony.

A series features: Full HD 1080p, WEGA Engine™, SXRD chip

Feast your eyes on 55" of beautiful 1080p picture quality and SXRD™ technology with the KDS-50A2020 rear projection HDTV. No does it have 1080p/24p or 120Hz which you need for it.

Sorry its just your player that has it.

Ive checked the Sony site only the 3000 series has it.

And nowhere do they say its a LCD only that its a rear projection SXRD.

Thumbs down

Seeing as no one is being productive on this post, I'd like it closed. Everyone knows EVERYTHING. So get your own updates from Sony.
