I would recommend the 1080P Westinghouse. My parents own a 1080P Westinghouse and it has a good picture for the money. Only problem with monitor is we ran into compatibility problems with the digital inputs. You might have trouble with the HDCP devices connected to it.
If you spent another $500 or $600 you could get a great looking Sony without these issues.

IF ANYONE has the cash to spend I recommend the Sony KDL52XBR3 or the Sony KDL52XBR2. They are both 52" LCD TV but differ in price and cosmetics.

Here is a 1080P Sony Bravia for $1,879.99 delivered

If you have the room the 50 inch Sony SXRD rear projector has a much better picture then LCD’s. You can purchase one for under $1600. The Sony SXRD will run circles around the Westinghouse. Sony has a NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner to receive HDTV programming with either a antenna or over cable for local QAM HDTV channels.

Bpaul2303,
Here is my experience with the Westinghouse 1080P 37 inch monitor. Back in the summer of 2005 my parents purchased one for around $2400. After the 30 day return policy was up I purchased a top of the line JVC D-VHS VCR which cost around $1,000. I tried connecting the JVC VCR to the monitor’s 1080P digital input and the 1080I digital input but it would not display anything since there was a incompatibility problem. I then took the JVC 1080I D-VHS which has HDMI HDCP and connected it to two other 720P TV’s my parents own and the HDMI digital output from the VCR worked with no problem on two different sets. So I verified the HDMI output worked with two other sets with digital inputs with the D-VHS. The problem was a incompatibility issue with the Westinghouse monitor. I called Westinghouse and they did not help. Now when I hooked up a standard DVD player that does not use HDCP the digital input on the Westinghouse worked fine.
Also I have read about other people having problems connecting HDCP digital cable boxes, and a PS3 to this monitor.

I only have around 1100 dollars to spend. So I f I cant hook my PS3 up to it using the HDMI and I cant hook my HDTV cable box to it then there would be no point of me getting it.That was just the only 1080p at the price that I can afford in LCD.So you would go with the AQUOS even though its 1080i?

If the PS3 works fine on every other 1080p TV, I have a hard time believing it's Sony's fault. And my JVC D-VHS works fine on every other TV accept the Westinghouse and when I called Westinghouse they said it was a problem with the D-VHS.

Back in December, I got a 37" LCD TV (ViewSonic N3752w) for $999 CDN. It came with 3 HDMI inputs. It's available only at Costco Canada from what I know.

I'm pretty pleased with the results though.

With my D-VHS connected to the set I had to use component cables since using high-end Monster Cable HDMI to DVI cable with the set would not even display a picture at all.

Default More links to the problem

Click on the link below and read below the article to see other people having problems with this Westinghouse brand. Westinghouse needs to fix this issue or people are going to stop buying there products. Here is two quotes from this website

“12. RE: PS3 Blinking Mystery Deepens:
I have the LVM-37w3. I just received the HDMI-->DVI cable that Westinghouse sent me. It doesn't fix the issue. Now they want me to send the set to them! WTF! I can't live without my TV!!

11. RE: PS3 Blinking Mystery Deepens:
I have the Westinghouse 37W1. I also have a PS3 and a motorola HD DVR Cable box neither of them work with this set. They both loose HDCP sync and scramble their pictures. This is definately a problem with Westinghouse and HDCP. I even bought an upscaling DVD player and it wouldn't work on this set either due to the HDCP issues. Westinghouse better fix this problem quickly or a lot of people will see their decite in trying to blame every other device out there.”

I'm in the same boat as you are. Honestly I would just save your money and buy something that is 100%. If you're already going to spend $1100 then what is another $500-600?

IMO, I wouldn't be surprised if the name brand 1080p sets start going on sale once the Super Bowl is over.
