I'd say the image has moments of looking very strong but overall is rather unremarkable - especially considering it is 1080P. This could be the cinematography as well, although it did have some stellar moments with underwater sequences and a lot of outdoor tropical shots that looked akin to a nature documentary. I can't pinpoint a specific complaint as it seems flawlessly rendered the MPEG-4 AVC encode just doesn't seem to lift the visuals high enough to fully satisfy as 'breathtaking' - which appeared to be the goal of certain scenes. The feature film on the Blu-ray takes up 30.4 Gig of the dual-layered disc and for all I know this may be as good as this film can look - certainly detail and colors can't really be flawed. Noise is prevalent in backgrounds but on my 43" plasma it simply looked very 'nice'... but certainly not stunning.

Haven't tried it yet but the back cover says it's AVC@35 mbps so at least it won't have any bitrate issues.

I watched it last night with my daughters and I thought the PQ was amazing.

My system for comparison of video:

Sony 60A3000 tv
PS3
Audio is also excellent.

I wasn't expecting much, but we really liked it and I felt the PQ was first notch.

Thanks for the info. I had planned to go through it really quickly to see what it's like. My parents will be visiting soon and I thought that might be a good family type film to watch. Guess I'll wait and watch it for the first time with them. Thanks.

After reading Blind Peter Bracke's review giving this only 3 stars for PQ with no satisfactory explanation, I decided to order this on the theory that if Bracke doesn't like the PQ, I will probably think it looks really good.

I thought the PQ was great, colors and black levels are dead on, there was no grain, and it gave a perfect HD look! The movie was fun, i loved it. I recomend it on blu ray

Excellent PQ. Get it, especially if you have pre-teens.
