I have looked at all the threads, reviews, etc. and it's down to the Yamaha V663 (maybe the 863), Onkyo 606 or Sony 820 (maybe the 920)

The Yamaha receiver has a feature called "silent cinema" for creating surround sound effects when using headphones.

At times I will have to use headphones (small kids in the house). Does anyone know (or have tried) if the Onkyo or Sony have any "surround sound" when using the headphone jack?

The sony has headphone theatre with digital cinema sound, sounds like the same thing, plus it has a night mode that plays at low volume, but keeps the dialog at listenable level.
