They make money. Nobody is forcing you to see them. Why whine about it?

Because other people see them - once people stop seeing them, they'll stop being made...dang kids with their disposable parental income...and their...their weekends...and their pop music and sequel movies...

So what. Them being made doesn't prevent other movies being made.

They're enjoyed by some people. If we stopped making any movie that someone had a problem with we wouldn't see a single movie made again. Just ignore the flicks and let those who like them enjoy them.

I tried to defend his viewpoint. Oh well,

...at least we wouldn't have had 'Snow Dogs'...

::goes off to watch Citizen Kane::

Do they really make that much money? I guess if you higher no-names and shove it out as fast as you can. I wish they would just try to make an original spoof. These ____ Movie(s) have been getting old exponentially.

early 09? It really takes them that long to put one of these together? I thought they usually just took a weekend and filmed as they were writing ...

These type of movies aren't funny!!! Quit making them! And the jokes are all the same. Each script is just fill in the blanks. Sure, change some of the names around and have the actors switch roles from the one they played in the last film and there you have it! a new movie that does nothing but steal kids lunch money and hogs theatre space.

Oh, come on!!! Now Friedberg and Seltzer are gonna take advantage by spoofing the likes of James Bond and Jason Bourne! This is so not cool!

But, er....other people DIDN'T see them--
"Disaster" opened at #7 for the four-day weekend (with four of those films being return titles), and made literally half of what the non-SeltzBerg "Superhero Movie" made at #3 during an empty March.
Execs can pass this off to bad luck, but the RottenTomatoes score ushering it into the golden 0% Club pantheon of legend won't help much.

I was expecting "Highschool Movie" or "Sequel movie" or "Animated Movie".

Well, y'see, that's just it--
Since all the jokes are abuot trailers currently airing, the Central Theme has to be some currently talked-about movie.
(ie. "Disaster Movie, 'Cause, Like, There's A Cloverfield Joke In It.")

And even that one was originally planned as an Indy IV parody--
Unfortunately, as for future source material, they've already used up their Dark Knight jokes, unless theaters start playing the Watchmen trailer a few more times, and maybe they can stick a Dragonball character in it.

Actually, the thing is that it won't have anything to do w/ spy movies. The studio who released "Disaster Movie" responded to criticism about releasing that movie the same day as the 3-year anniversary of Katrina by stating that the movie doesn't depict any natural disaster, even though one of the posters was a "parody" of "The Day After Tomorrow."

Oh, and from the last I've read, Disaster Movie has only made back about half its budget, so here's to hoping the studio realizes what that means.

Disaster Movie bombed, so this film might be their last if it does the same.

Well I may be 17, but at least I'm smart enough to stay away from such movies. I wonder how long until Friedberg and Seltzer run out of ideas and start spoofing their own spoof movies? Not long now.

I wonder what it would be like? Does the spoofing of a spoof cancelled each other to be a serious movie or does it only get spoofier than the spoof?
