Just get the two-tape VHS or laserdisc at this point. The negative and the film rights are with two different companies (in fact, Disney was rumored to have had plans for a unrated release in 2011 with a new commentary by Craven and Williamson but shortly after lost the rights and Lionsgate simply used what was available) and Lionsgate has only updated a Miramax title if it's significant enough to do so (the director's cut of 54).

The Unrated Cut of Scream is a bit pointless, the changes are so small for an otherwise very bloody film.

1. Miramax would be responsible for the extended version of Scream and well, unless they decide to provide to Lionsgate... not likely.

2. The extended version of Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is available through Concorde Home Video in Germany. THere also have been two UK releases so which one are you talking about?

It's the same story as the uncut Casino and Candy Man being on VHS. Highly unlikely the studios would go back and make new masters at the this stage.

1. Wishlist section please.

2. If Miramax/Lionsgate ever decide to do it. The good news is that Lionsgate is starting to release catalog titles again.

I totally forgot about the uncut candy man. I hope shout does it eventually.... same with scream 1. I think these studio's should sell off or get rid of these horror films because they don't do crap with them. At least places like shout, VS, Code Red, Synapse, and some others do them justice (usually).

I would not ruled it out.

Miramax
did release the producer's cut of Halloween 6 through Shout! and then later through Lionsgate.

There is supposed to be a new edition of From Dusk Till Dawn being released this year, through who is unknown since Lionsgate has not released a Miramax title in over a year but Arrow has released a few of them.

So Miramax is working on their catalog.

I can see better editions of Scream, Fortress and Equilibrium coming soon.

Doesn't look like it's out of print.

This is NOT the unrated cut that everyone is referring to. In Germany, they tend to make cuts to films that are our theatrical cuts. I believe the initial German release of SCREAM on blu-ray was one that they made cuts to. Often they will later release an "uncut" version of the film, but technically it's just the normal theatrical cut that they happened to edit previously. So yes, this is "uncut" but only in the sense that it contains the things that Germany previously decided to censor.

This is not the cut of the film that was released on a couple of dvd's from other countries that included extended gore.

When importing from Germany, you really have to be careful. They tend to do lots of edits.

I'd be happy with a decently mastered Theatrical Cut version of Scream at this point.

With Paramount now owning the rights to the franchise (except 4?) through their acquistion of Miramax, we might get something for Scream when the fifth movie comes out in 1/22. They just re-released the first three movies, so who knows what else they might want to do. Perhaps it'll show up in their Paramount Presents line one day with a new 4K scan.

A UHD with TC & DC would be one of the releases of the year for me.
