Real thinks they can pawn off a $50 DVD ripper that will put full, uncompressed DVD's on your HD, add a level of DRM and then charge you $20 each for up to 3 additional computers... So, what you get is an 8GB movie on your HD, pay them up to $110, and you cant put it on your iPhone/pod, PSP, PS3, 360 etc. WTF over! Fools! I bet it sells like a mother to the idiots that dont know better! Last edited by crackinhedz; 09-09-2008 at 02:14 AM. |

Looks good from a certain aspect, but I can only imagine how smothered in DRM it will be.
The one app solution for ripping, cataloging and searching looks cool. The price is going to make it fail though! I've signed up for email notification when it becomes available - I have to try it. |

It just looks like it wont let me pick just the movie with chapters, and compress it to something that works a little better (say 2 gigs for full movie, half a gig for PSP)... It seems like you wont be able to put it on anything but computers and laptops either... Maybe V2.0 will let you transfer to portables and game systems. Looks cool, just way over the top expensive... If it doesn't just fold from being cost-prohibitive, I imagine they will either SERIOUSLY reduce the cost or make it a freebie.
Since it will be a legal way to backup and store/watch your collection, I can see other software developers dropping their own versions as well - Open Source anyone? ![]() |
