I'm no audio expert but but from what I understand being Bluray is the latest tech. And DTS true HD is the lateset in audio and is what Bluray is special for Id say DTS HD. Thats just my thought though

they're the same. If it's lossless audio, it doesn't matter.

I heard PCM is better because it comes in it's original raw form. DTS-HD MA comes a close second. And people also voted PCM.

Yes, totally agree.
But sometimes sounds different because the mix they use.
I notice that especially in live concerts.
This make people think they are different, in my opinion.

Sometimes the PCM track is 16 bit and the DTS HD-MA/TrueHD track is 24 bit, if that's the case then the DTS track would be the preferred version. If they are both the same bit depth and as long as your player/receiver can decode MA ether one because they would be equal .

they all have same capabilty.

i can name a TrueHD movie (transformers) which tops most PCM tracks
i can name a PCM movie (black hawk down) which tops most TrueHD/DTS tracks

and i can anme a DTS movie (Sunshine) which tops most PCM/TrueHD tracks

so its how they're mixed and the bit rate, not whether its PCM/TrueHD/ or DTS

I voted for DTS HD-MA for three reasons:
- it sounds identical to PCM when decoded properly
- it also contains a basic DTS track, useful for people with sound systems that don't support lossless/PCM
- it takes up less space on the BD

How many threads do we need to repeat the same stupid argument?

Personally, I prefer analog. Sound is analog by nature. PCM is a procedure to convert analog to digital. Therefore, both PCM and DTS MA are inderior to analog. From now on, we should have analog sound recorded on Blu-ray discs and all BD players should be equipped with a stylus (needle) to read the analog sound. No more digital.

Please read A Guide to Home Theater Audio Codecs. You are getting confused about Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD HR, and DTS HD MA.

PCM is by definition not compressed so by definition anything compressed even super good cannot be better right ?

Anyways from a practical point of view what's the difference ? I mean I challenge anyone here to tell the difference just by hearing the two sounds.

There is a difference. IMHO I think TrueHD sounds better than PCM 80% of the time. Dolby seems to add more midbass and depth to its tracks for some reason. PCM is extremely clean and seems like it has much more treble in it. DTS-HDMA I haven't heard yet.
