Exclamation Name Favorite surround sound speakers???

I have seen a lot of posters speaking about Onkyo, so I'm guessing that's a class fovorite. But now I am asking for you to tell me what brand of speakers is your favorite choice. This is not a disscusion of room size or placement. I simply want to know what brand you like. once the votes are tallied up then I can go from there to see which ones would be right for me. I'd like to hear from those who have almost literally a home THEATER and are proud of it. or those who have just heard first hand a different brand and want to switch now.

And PLEASE, if you take the time to write "pointless thread", "this again", "do a search", or "there is no straight answer" also make the time to write one more word down, The Brand of Speakers YOU have ;-)

Well, I like many brands:

- Aperion
- Athena technology
- Axiom
- B&K
- Definitive Technology
- Energy
- HSU
- Klipsch
- Martin Logan
- Paradigm
- Polk audio
- SVS
etc...

And the list could go on... Most companies have great speakers, it all depends on your preferences, budget, room and application (HT or music and what type of music).

Anyway for my part, I have two setups, One with Axiom speakers and an SVS sub and the other with Athena tech F/C/L, Polk audio surrounds and Klipsch sub. The end point, I think the Axiom speakers are really great for the price but if I had no budget limit well I might have chosen some 20 000$ speakers :P

Oh well.

Well that would make sense. If it was their favorite, wouldn't they own them?

Oh and to the OP, my favorite surround sound speakers are the same as my favorite music speakers. VSA of course.

I would suggest you see what brands are available locally to you, and go listen to them in person, and decide which ones YOU like best.

with your post thank you for also including what you have lol. One reason I am doing this is because I live in a relatively small town where many of these brands are unknown to me. this gives me a very good starting ground, knowing some of the best out there. so if you want to list a manufactures list PLEASE DO! if not then at least post one!!!

I converted a garage into a dedicated home cinema room 7 years ago. I have Miller & Kreisell-SS-150-THX surround speaker. I absolutely love them to bits.

I paid £1.500 per speaker you can get them on eBay now for a lot less.

Thumbs up I like the B&W's

I like the soundstage, the clarity !

link : http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/displa...fid=2375&sc=ht

These are the cheapest of what B&W offers for floorstanders and shelf speakers. If you want to look at the 800 series, be ready to drop 24k a pair.

I gues the M-1s are the least expensive and sound great but not as good as the 600's IMO !

Okay, I'll play along. First though, what speakers are you running up front, and what are you powering them with? Knowing as much information about your setup as we can will certainly help us make suggestions.

As for me, I really like and use Linaeum (Aura) speakers, which are fairly unconventional. Unfortunately, Linaeum ceased production several years ago. The founder and head designer for Linaeum, Paul Paddock, is in the process of getting a new speaker design and company going, Aero Loudspeakers. The designs look promising, and based on Linaeum's history, they should be really good. Here's a link to their site in progress:

well thank you for "playing along". seriously. but that's the thing, as of right now I have no set up. pardon the expresion, but I basicly just jury-rigged about 8 sterio speakers to my PS3 and 47" TV. now mind you, I am only 20 yrs old but have a lot of money put away so I am planning on getting a new bigger TV and REAL surround sound speakers. so who better to ask then ppl of the Blu

Geeze dude.

A piece of advice about posting online and about RL situations. If you are aware enough to post (or think) "pardon the expression", you should use another expression.
