I'm not a member on AVS....but I do go there frequently if I'm looking for technical information on my specific TV, and whatnot.

I really don't know why I've never bothered to sign up over there....maybe I'll go do that now

I'm a member of both. AVS is fantastic if your looking for technical information. Honestly, there isn't any other place that holds as much information about all sorts of different electronics as AVS. So, if your doing research and the like AVS is the place to go. Blu-ray.com is more the fun place to "hang out." I usually come here more often than AVS because I like the Off-topic, deals and Blu-ray movie threads.

Im a member at all of the major sites. I prefer Blu-ray.com for BD info, and AVS when im looking for tv/audio info.

I am a member of both, there is much more technical information at avs. It also seems the information is much more balanced on avs (they talk about everything), while here it is mostly about flat panel tv's and PS3's.

I'm more used to Bluray.com than AVS I think the forum here is more "user-friendly" or so it seems to me as for info, except for some specific questions I don't seek technical information that much, I'm more interested with release dates and content of releases in movies and games.

Both...I stared over there...had a Gold Membership and everything...then, the mods started getting a bit one-sided and showing favortism to certain members....Omar(or whatever his name was), Lee...it ended getting dragged into the mud and I couldn't handle it anymore..

I just hang out here...I'm still subscribed to the threads about my equipment...use it for that sort of info, but, I can't stand the bickering.

been a member there just about as long as here and hd digest. i found people here are a lot less snobbish and full of themselves. so my preference is here. occasionally i check there site for tech info that i cannot find on my own.

Huh, when I first read the title, I thought that there was gonna be a war between the 2 forums. Wonder what that would be like?

I guess I am technically a member of both but I have not posted at AVS for over a year. AVS still has some knowledgeable people, but over the years it really went down hill which is why I moved here. The problem with AVS is that there is just too much noise. Too many people there don’t care about the facts any more and it is all about just posting any BS. I find that since it is also a large (popular) site it is used by viral marketers. And too many posts are of the sort “I bought X so X must be best”

I signed up on AVS because of the unbelievable amount of info on dedicated theater setups....... I've gotten a LOT of ideas over there...... this site is better for keeping up-to-date on movie releases, and passing time

AVS is considered a more technical forum, the only challenges you may find is to sort thru a lot of junk at times to get to the core of it.

Plus the fact that you have all repetitive postings or questions about something without searching first.
