It appears that you downloaded the Cyberlink BD Advisor.
BD advisor will not see WinDVD as a Blu-ray software - it's not a Cyberlink product. The included WinDVD will work for many BDs, but not for some of the new ones. ![]() You might consider either upgrading to the full version of WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray, Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 Ultra, or ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre. These will play all BDs or will in a very short period of time if some new BD scheme is released on a new disc. ArcSoft plays great! My personal favorite playback software. http://www.arcsoft.com/products/totalmediatheatre/ |

Have you updated IWDVD from your Vaio's driver support page? If you flash firmware from an OEM source and not the PC Vendor's support page you can fry your drive. Try playing a regular DVD movie in first to see if it will play a normal disk. If it does you're probably okay, but start there first. What are the model/part #s of your Vaio? |
