Default Blu-Ray players with 5.1 multichannel analog?

I'm having a hard time finding blu ray players with multichannel analog 5.1 outputs for a reasonable price. Can anyone help me?

All I've discovered is the Samsung BD-P1400 which is getting horrible reviews on Amazon. But it runs for a cheap price.

Anymore suggestions would be great.

Get the Panasonic DMP-BD80. $337 on Amazon. Has 7.1 analog outs. Solid player, I trust Panasonic's players moreso than anybody at the entry level.

That's a good price for a unit that has 7.1 analog outs. The only ones cheaper that I could find were the older models.

Could've sworn I saw the samsung 1600 for $279 on amazon today...I think that has 5.1 analog out...

Side question....will hd audio converted to analog be as good as the hdmi? I'm going to be using this with my Onkyo htib till I decide on what to do replacement wise on my speakers (yes...the kefs are sold...46'' a650 also...only replacement so far is the 55'' sammy led lcd that comes next week).

The audio ends up analog either way. The player does the conversion with multichannel analog and the receiver does it with HDMI. The difference is the quality of the DACs and the processing capabilities of each device.

AVRs tend to have better DACS, better bass management, and many can apply EQ for rooms that need it. So, HDMI is usually the recommended path.

But, if your player has better processing tools than your receiver, which could be the case with an HTIB, then multichannel analog would be better.

In many cases, there really isn't much difference.
