Default Using Blu-ray DVDs

When a recorded-on Blu-Ray disc is full, or for any other reason, can it be "erased" and used again? Thanks.

no it has to be a rewritable disc, BD-R is one time use, whereas BD-RE are rewritable, see picture below.

Can you erase the disk using the Blu-ray recorder, and if so, how long would it take to erase a full disk? Thanks.

I've never seen a Blu-ray DVD.

Perhaps you mean Blu-ray.

DVD is old technology.

Just like a regular DVD and CD, once the information is burned on a BD or a BD-R, it is stuck there. You can wipe the information, but it will be useless and you can not put new information on. This is only good for security if you need to remove sensitive information from the disc. If you use a BD-RW, you can re-write the information.
It would take a LONG time to erase a disc, as it would have to go through 25 or 50 GB of data. I'd imagine several hours. But again, it would make it a useless disc.
