Why?

Ok I have a simple question. I have heard lots say the best is the PS3. I have heard that summy is great, sony, panny, and so on. I personamlly own a Samsung 1400. DO plan on exchanging it and gtting either a newer one or the 1500. But here is my question, I have seen a lot of people saying that they have more then 1 type of player. What is the point of having more then 1 player to begin with. I mean you can only watch 1 movie at a time rihgt (unless you have 2 tv's hoked up next to each other and play 2 movies at the same time. almost like pip) ANYWAY. But still whats the point in having more then 1 and keep both or more for that matter. Just asking.
