Default No problems with bh-200

I've owned this player since the last part of May 2008, and after the firmware updates, no problems at all. I have it hooked up to a ceiling mounted sanyo plv-z2k projector onto a 106" 2.35:1 superwide fixed screen. All blu-ray and hd-dvd movies look spectacular, up-converting is also good on sd-dvd.

21 hd-dvd
10 blu-ray

And with the low low prices of existing hd-dvd disc's, I'm still buying that format!
Some of those titles won't come out on blu-ray for years to come....

well, i bought mine today. the best buy website said they didn't have any instore but we were going to look around anyways. my wife stumbled upon ONE. i took a look and saw trhe sticker said $749 and it had been opened. the saleman approached and i said we were looking at getting this and it said $399.99 online. he said he could cut me a deal better than that. turned out he wanted to get it off the floor and offered it up for $299.99. so hell yeah i jumped all over it. saved $100 off the online price and $450 off the sticker price. WOOHOO!!!

I've had a BH200 for a few months, and I think it's one of the best kept secrets around. Apart from DTS MA decoding, it does everything you could want, and may yet become profile 2.0 compliant (if anyone cares).

Performance is superb; its as good as the best dedicated players; and I've been laughing as I hoover up all the cheap HD DVDs in the country. It gives the equal best DVD pictures I've ever seen as well (far better than PS3 for example).

The icing on the cake is that you can play DVDs AND BDs from any region!

Theres lots of support in AVF & AVS.

Nick

See here.

Basically, BD doesn't become "region-free," but you can change the BD region whenever you want.

DVD can be made "region free," though RCE discs will require you to switch back to the correct region in order to play back.
