Thumbs up Run, Fatboy, Run DTS MA 7.1 Audio Confirmed - Packaging Error

I received Run, Fatboy, Run from WB. I was dissapointed to see it say "Dolby Digital 7.1 Audio" on the back of the cover until I popped in the movie. To my surprise, it was DTS MA 7.1 Audio!!! So that everyone knows, Run, Fatboy, Run has lossless audio!!!

great news to hear, at least New Line has a little say in what goes into their movies. Too bad New Line couldn't have absorbed WB, then we would have dts-hd ma on all titles oh well

If you like any Simon Pegg film, you'll definitely enjoy this one. It is a little cliched but I was laughing tons through it and it was great to see a reunion with Pegg & Dylan Moran.

lol there is no such thing as "Dolby Digital 7.1" regardless. Standard DD just doesnt support than many channels of sound.

Well it is a New Line Picture, so maybe New Line already had the audio set up and WB decided not to change it.

I ordered this from WB as well, I hope I get it soon.

New Line probably started authoring the Blu-ray before they were folded into WB. This movie was shown in the UK before it was here (if I remember correctly), and it's been a while (if I remember correctly) since it was shown here, so New Line probably had time.

This just reveals how cheap Warner is with their Blu-rays. New Line had already authored this disc and so Warner just reused the New Line encode (and still messed up the listing on the packaging). Once all the pre-existing New Line encodes have been used you can kiss 7.1 DTS-HD MA tracks goodbye on New Line titles. Dolby Digital here we come...

And it's also region coded, although it's not stated on the back cover. So everything supports that New Line had already prepped and authored the disc. That would explain both the DTS HD-MA and region coding, as opposed to the cover and Warner releases in general.

I'd have to say that I think it is a level below those two, but it's still an enjoyable film. It is broader in its comedic style than most of Pegg's other work.

+1 WB has been so used to putting out crappy audio on their blu-rays that when one that has actually good audio they just put on the cover as dolby digital 7.1 since they are so used to putting dolby digital on their blu-rays. but if they are going to make a mistake on the cover they should put something that actually exists
