Default What is your most controversial/unpopular film opinion? You know you have one!

That's right. Whether you hated the Lord of the Rings trilogy, thought Jar Jar Binks was fantastic, found No Country for Old Men lacking in plot, believed the Godfather was boring, thought that Gigli deserved accolades, presumed that Transformers was an Oscar-worthy film, or viewed the Dark Knight as "simple" - found the Shawshank Redemption snooze-worthy or the Lion King too stupid - what would you say is your one movie opinion that goes against "the masses" or you always get hated on for saying it?

Come now! Let's judge each other!

Personally - I did not care for Scarface. Most of the other youths I grew up around worshipped the film and viewed Tony Montana as the second coming of Jesus. I just - I couldn't feel for the characters. No empathy. I watched it and it was ok, but not the mind-blowing experience my fellow minorities make it out to be.

And I thought Star Wars: Ewoks was revolutionary. No, no, I joke, I joke, I kid, I kid.

I thought Scarface was ok. Somehow it just grew and grew and grew. To me its overrated. But thats my opinion. Once Upon A Time In America was awesome. Man I feel like watching that again

I HATED Home Alone, and thought The Mummy was crap.

I seem to be the only person who watched There's Something About Mary and didn't laugh. (What I would have laughed at had already been given away by the trailers).

Oh, I'm gonna get bashed so bad for this!!! I didn't care for:

Scarface, Casino, Eastern Promises, The Butterfly Effect, Kingdom of Heaven, The Godfather, Hancock, Superbad, Firefly/Serenity, Kill Bill, Fargo, and many more that I'll post when I think of them.

I also really liked The Invasion with Kidman and Craig!

I've also tried a few of Wes Anderson's films--Darjeeling, Tenenbaums, and Aquatic Life--and they all suck big goat balls.

I prefer Toy Story 2 over the original!!

I thought Spiderman 3 was the best of the bunch , I hate Denzel Washington , and I liked Batman Begins more than the Dark Knight.

I really didn't like Blade Runner, I was liking No Country For Old Men up until the end. I thought the Prestige was very boring, as well as Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, and There Will be Blood too. I didn't think Daniel Day Lewis' performance was all that.

I really liked La Bamba, The Butterfly Effect(more with the alternative endings), Erin Brockovich, Willow.

I think A Clockwork Orange is one of Scariest movies ever(must have been like 12 yrs old when I first saw it on cable)

I could care less about Iron Man. Maybe I'll rent it when it comes out, that's about it. IMO there has been too many adaptations of comic books lately, and to come in the future. Only the latest Batman's seem to get it right.

The third movie in the LOTR trilogy is awful and has very little redeeming features. It is a travesty it won so many Oscars. The first one was good and the second movie is decent, but Peter Jackson lost his mind on the last one.

Blade Runner...I know every one think its the FATHER of Sci-Fi but I don't care for it. I've sat through it three times and only the last time did I stay awake and I am above average(slightly) inteligence and it just dosen't grab me, it dosen't do much...

Hmmm, OK (in increasing controversy):

- LA Confidential should have won Best Picture for 1997
- Return of the King (theatrical) is painful to watch (how many endings?)
- I actually think the special edition of The Empire Strikes Back is better
- No Country For Old Men was a disappointment

And ....

- Except for Heath Ledger, The Dark Knight is a complete mess.

I hated There Will Be Blood and have yet to remain awake through a single viewing of V is For Vendetta. Both bored me to tears .

I'm with you, billypoe! The Invasion was so underrated, and I'll go as far as saying that I liked it better than the 1978 version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"!

However, my opinion on No Country for Old Men is this: Boring as boring could be! (Except for the so-called "action" scenes.) How that movie -- and Javier Bardem -- won Academy Awards, I'll never know! I'd rather sit through 2 1/2 hours of The Departed again than watch a total snooze-fest like No Country for Old Men!

Oh, yeah!! I forgot about The Departed. How the heck did that win best picture over Letters From Iwo Jima?

I also hated Babel and Little Miss Sunshine.
