Default DVD+R Compatibility with BDP-S1

Has anyone burned to a DVD+R DL Disc and played it back on the BDP-S1 with success? I am noticing that the +R DL discs are much more prevalent. Thanks for the info.

I have DVD+R DL discs and they don't play on my PS3...the technology is supposed to be identical...

this is unfortunate because my old DVD player plays them and I still have to keep it around..
