Smile to upgrade from yamaha rx-v2600?

just wondering if anyone has upgraded to the new av receivers out there with the new dolby true hd codecs and dts master etc..? i have the Yamaha rx-v2600 and is does not support those or the hdmi 1080 p as well. i have a sony blue ray player that supports the new sounds codecs. my yamaha really sounds good!! and i have always stuck with Yamaha because they sound so darn good and are built like tanks, thinking of the rx-v3800 model and the new sony es 5300 line too. also, i am kind of intrigued with the pioneer elite line too. if anyone has made this jump and thinks its worth it, and has any info on the best mid range receiver out there let me know. thx!!!!!

**sorry if this was posted on the general ht discussion, i didnt see the receiver discussion thread.***

I had a Pioneer Elite receiver with component and all the old audio codecs and analog inputs. I decided to upgrade to my current receiver, a Denon 4308ci. Was it worth it? For me, the answer is yes. The three options you mentioned above are excellent choices. It is all a matter of finances and how much do you really care about lossless audio. If money is not an issue, go ahead and do it. If you have financial problems, don't do it. There are more important things in life than HD audio.

Default Go Yamaha Go!

I recently went from the Yammy RXV-1GL which was the Flagship receiver back 5-6 years ago but did not have HDMI or HD audio codecs to the Brand new Yammy RXV-1900 and I am loving the sound. The newer audio processors plus HD codecs really are kickin ass! Go for the Yammy if you already have had them. My last 4 receivers have been Yamaha. Dont get me wrong though, Denon, Elite and Integra are really nice too.
