Default Nintendo conference announcements; new DS, Punchout Wii

http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/02/n...unces-the-dsi/

Looks-wise there's not much different happening, but it's some 12 percent thinner -- partly because it omits the GBA cartridge slot. The displays are slightly larger, at 3.25 inches apiece, and there's an external three megapixel camera as well as a front-facing camera located on the inside hinge. The DSi has an SD slot and internal storage

ill update with more details as they roll in

Quote:
Before Pikmin (and not counting previous Wii remake Resident Evil 4), Nintendo will re-release Donkey Kong Jungle Beat on December 11. Upcoming titles in the collection include Chibi Robo, Pikmin 2, Mario Tennis GC, Metroid Prime, and Metroid Prime 2 Dark Echoes. No word on any release dates outside of Japan, but we'll be live at Nintendo of America's press conference in San Francisco later today.

Extra 2 cameras and SD memory?

Meh, I'd still buy an older NDSlite.

I was hoping Nintendo would actually make a machine that prints money. I guess this is just as close for them since it will sell millions in Japan. I can see sold out signs already.

Ugh, I thought when they told Chris Remo they were making Pikmin it would be Pikmin 3, not GCN Pikmin remade with new and improved waggle. Sucks to be a Wii owner these days...

According to GAF there isn't even going to be waggle. It is a straight shift from GCN to Wii, not even a port to use waggle.

One can only hope for Star Fox but after the abomination of Assault I hope it goes to one of the internal dev teams than to Scamco.
