Default Where do you vacation?

For the past two years my wife and I have been going to Maui but next year we want to do something different. We were thinking of Aitutaki but it's a long flight.

Where do you go for vacation and what about it do you like? Help me with ideas!

There are 2 things I want to do before I die. I dont know the type of people you are so neither may fit your bill.

1) (VERY COLD) Different parts of the world have them... But I want to do the one in Europe to give me a reason to visit a few other places... Anyway it's called the "ice hotel." http://www.icehotel.com/ it's a hotel made completely of ice. I don't drink, but they have an ABSOLUT ICEBAR... Just in case. IDK it's just something I want to do.

2) (VERY WARM) There's this hotel in Coata Rica that's built in the trees (i.e. Swiss Family Robinson)... http://www.costaricatreehouse.com/

Just got back from a trip to Yosemite. Last year in the fall I went to Peru, Guatemala and the Yucatan, looking at Mayan and Incan ruins.

Now that would be hella cool, seen many documentaries on them and would love taking a high quality SLR camera and spending the entire day taking photos at a place like that.

As far as me and my brokeness at this time i went for a weekend trip to new jersey shore this summer, yes people please feel free to feel sorry for me.

I've been to quite a few countries in Europe, Hawai'i, Alaska, etc... but by far the best (although not a "relax on the beach vaction" ) would be Argentina (Buenos Aires specifically)

LOVE that city..... it's like a European NYC, or the spanish speaking Paris as the people there describe it........

I'd look into it, it's only a 8 or 9 hour flight from Miami..... so it was 10 hours total for me, so the same as going to Hawai'i

We go to Kauai. I like it much better then any of the other islands. My family has 2 months of marriott time shares there so its become a home away from home the last few years.

For the last 5 years, we've made it our mission to go to Costa Rica for at a minimum, 4 weeks...

We usually do 2 weeks in January (the dry season), and then 2 weeks in July or August (the wet season)...

If I were to ever hit a massive lottery, I would definitely move there.... People are fabulous, food is great, lifestyle (free flowing, countryside is rustic yet modern), and wildlife/flora is fantastic. Plus, you have the Pacuare River, which has some of the best white water in the world (we do at least 2 full days on each visit if possible).

Vegas.....baby......Vegas. I'm not even a gambler. Sure, I tried my hand with poker, slots, keeno but that's just for curiosity. Since I travelled all the way out there, I figure I might as well stop by palm springs, los angeles & san diego. I love it so much that I have no desire to visit anywhere else.

I recommend you'll visit Vegas at least once especially if you reside out of north america.
You could visit new york only or vegas & hop on a plane to los angeles in about 2 hours.

Where: Germany in winter time... to get away from the heat!

Why: Got family living there, plus its a good start for the wife to learn some about the European hospitality!

Seriously, we are trying to go mid next year, and I will take her to a few more cities/countries around.

my wife and I go to Vegas at least once a year. we LOVE it. It is very expensive, or at least it can be. I lived in Hawaii for 7 years and do not care for the relaxing vacation. I like excitement. We are trying to get to new york sometime and I REALLY want to got to Tokyo, especially when they have an F1 race in japan.

If you have never been to vegas, there is more to do than just gamble. The 1st 2 times we went we tried to do everything in 4 days, I mean EVERYTHING. It was too much. We now plan what we are going to do. Is is a gambling trip, a clubbing trip( that can get more expensive than gambling), an adventure trip( grand canyon and Colorado river are close by helicopter) or shopping or whatever. We have gone and not gambled any money. only once though.
